Gavin and Joe Maloof have bet $880,000 on Floyd Mayweather and say they will donate their winnings to various Las Vegas and Los Angeles charities.

Who said a little good can’t come from two rich, brash athletes punching each other in the face?

Wealthy businessmen and former Sacramento Kings owners have informed the Associated Press that they have made an $880,000 bet on Floyd Mayweather to defeat Conor McGregor when they box on Aug. 26. The bet was made at the South Point Casino in Las Vegas at odds of -550 in favor of Mayweather.

If Mayweather wins, the Maloofs would earn a profit of $160,000, which they say they will donate to various Las Vegas and Los Angeles charities with the help of their sister Adrienne Maloof.

The odds the Maloofs secured are good and better than the -800 Mayweather opened at when the fight was originally announced, but they may have been able to do better.

Currently, Sports Book Review has odds listed as low as -400 for Mayweather to win. If the Maloofs were to place the same $880,000 bet at those odds, the profit would be $60,000 higher for a total profit of $220,000.

No matter the profit, Gavin Maloof is just excited to do some good.

“We have a huge opportunity to help a lot of people in charities, so we decided to do it,” he told the AP.

Gavin Maloof, who lives down the street from Mayweather according to the AP story, has full confidence that his neighbor can get the job done on Aug. 26.

“So I called my brother, Joe, and said, ‘We should put a wager on Floyd because I don’t think he’s going to lose,'” he said. “Not to take anything away from Conor. He’s good. But I just like Floyd a lot.”
