Despite issues with the IRS, Floyd Mayweather has a net worth of over $300 million.

Floyd Mayweather, when active, is the world’s highest paid athlete and it isn’t even close. When he fights Conor McGregor on Aug. 26 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, he will likely reclaim his spot at the top of the list.

Currently, the world’s highest paid athlete is soccer star Cristiano Rinaldo with an estimated $93 million in earnings for 2017, a number Mayweather will likely crush once his pay check for fighting McGregor arrives.

With a 2016 net worth of $340 million according to Forbes, Mayweather also made the magazine’s 40 Richest Entrepreneurs Under 40 in his last year of eligibility.

“Money” Mayweather’s salary per-fight fluctuates based on how well the fight performs on pay-per-view, but in the decade that has passed since his breakout win over Oscar De La Hoya, Mayweather hasn’t had a boxing payday of less than $25 million. Even his 2008 Wrestlemania appearance brought in $20 million to the Mayweather coffers.

The biggest paycheque Mayweather has seen for a fight was his 2015 bout with Manny Pacquiao. That fight shattered the all-time pay-per-view record set by Mayweather’s fight with De La Hoya with an astonishing 4.4 million buys, earning Mayweather a cool $250 million for a night’s work.

All in all, Mayweather has earned over $730 million in his boxing career according to Celebrity Net Worth, and if his fight with McGregor does business in the same neighborhood as the Pacquiao fight did, Mayweather may be able to break the $1 billion career earnings barrier.

Despite his staggering income, Mayweather still has an outstanding tax bill. In July, he filed a petition to the Internal Revenue Service to defer his 2015 tax payments until after the McGregor fight due to not having enough “cash on hand” to pay what Forbes says is a $29 million tax bill.
