Fantasy football: top 10 waiver wire Week 4 pickups
8. Josh Doctson
He only had one catch on Monday night in the Washington Redskins 27-10 win over the Oakland Raiders, but it was a special one. Doctson scored on a 52-yard catch where he lept over the defender to grab the ball before strolling into the end zone.
It was Doctson’s since first touchdown of his career, and only his first catch this season.
Now, while a one catch game isn’t usually something to be excited about, this will have done wonders for Doctson’s confidence and will potentially have put him in line for more targets and involvement moving forward.
Despite putting up 365 yards and three touchdowns through the air, Kirk Cousins has found it hard to get a rhythm going with his wide receivers this season. Terrelle Pryor only had two catches for 19 yards against the Raiders, and only has 10 for 116 without a score on on the season so far. Jamison Crowder, another breakout candidate has only produced what whil Jamison Crowder, another breakout candidate has only produced 13 catches for 113 yards.
While running back Chris Thompson (last week’s top waiver wire suggestion) has dominated in the receiving game so far, there is room for someone to break out here whether it’s Pryor, Crowder or Doctson and the second-year man has just a good chance as any if he continues to make plays like he did on Monday night.
