If you’re taking the subways in New York, you might catch a shocking Knicks ad campaign this week.

An ad campaign for FS1 in New York’s subway system is raising quite a few eyebrows this week, plastering the 42nd Street Shuttle with images of Knick players alongside common complaints about the team and its management.

This campaign is two-sided; one side features anti-Knick and anti-James Dolan sentiment, while the other is much more positive, touting the potential of Kristaps Porzingis and other players.

The pro-Knicks side of the train has, perhaps unsurprisingly, generated far less attention on social media.

Interestingly, controversial free-agent signee Tim Hardaway Jr. is featured on both sides. The Knicks selected Hardaway Jr. with the 23rd overall pick in the 2013 draft, then traded him to Atlanta during the 2015 draft for the pick that would become Jerian Grant. This summer, the Knicks re-acquired Hardaway, signing him to a four-year, $71 million offer sheet that Atlanta declined to match.

There are also apparently versions of this same campaign for the Cleveland Cavaliers and the New York Yankees on other trains.

The campaign is obviously intended to push Fox’s “debate” programming. FS1 is not a broadcast partner of the Knicks, whose games are carried on television by their corporate siblings at the MSG Network and on radio by ESPN New York.
