EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ - OCTOBER 08: Odell Beckham

The New York Giants will be without Odell Beckham Jr. for the rest of the NFL season, as he fractured his ankle in Sunday’s loss.

During their 2017 NFL Week 5 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, the New York Giants lost more than just the game. Standout wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. fractured his ankle during the game, and with it, went the rest of his 2017 season. Beckham is slated to have surgery this week on the ankle, and for a player who has been dealing with contract issues, this could not have come at a worse time for him.

J.J. Watt is another NFL superstar who is done for the year, as he fractured his tibial plateau on Sunday. The injury came on the first drive of the Houston Texans’ Sunday Night Football loss to the Kansas City Chiefs and is a devastating blow to their offense. Watt missed most of last season with an injury as well, and you have to wonder how this is going to affect his playing status in the long-term.

Miami Dolphins assistant coach Chris Foerster had a video of him circulate all over the internet on Sunday, and it certainly was not for a good reason. In the video, Foerster can be seen snorting a white substance with a 20-dollar bill, and one can only guess what the substance was. On Monday, Foerster resigned his post with the Dolphins, and the team has said they will help him get help with his issues.

The Cleveland Browns are one of only three winless teams remaining in the NFL, and they currently have a quarterback controversy on their hands. Second-round selection DeShone Kizer was benched by head coach Hue Jackson during the team’s loss to the New York Jets Sunday, as the team went with Kevin Hogan instead. Hogan was terrific for the Browns, completing 16-of-19 passes for 194 yards and two touchdowns in two quarters of work.

In some sad NFL news, former New York Giants great Y.A. Tittle passed away on Monday. The 90-year old Tittle passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, and will forever be remembered as one of the greats of the game. Tittle played in 17 seasons, went to seven Pro Bowls, and was a Most Valuable Player twice. Rest easy Y.A.
