Without Aaron Rodgers, the Green Bay Packers are in trouble. I know it, you know it and Packers fans definitely know it based on their reactions to the injury to Rodgers.

In the first half of their Sunday afternoon matchup against the Minnesota Vikings, the worst-case scenario happened to the Green Bay Packers. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers rolled outside of the pocket and was taken down hard by linebacker Anthony Barr right after Rodgers threw the ball.

He immediately left the game and we soon found out it is a right shoulder injury for the Packers star quarterback.

Obviously, taking a hit like that on the throwing should is not great for an NFL quarterback. While a timetable has yet to be determined, the Packers could conceivably be without Rodgers for a significant period of time.

As you can imagine, this has caused an interesting reaction out of Packers fans. Aaron Rodgers is their organization. Without him, this team could fall apart quickly. Let’s take a look at some of the Twitter reactions from Packers fans and also fantasy football players who are relying on Rodgers week in and week out.

Social Media Reactions

I agree. If this is true. Pretty classless by Vikings fans.

This guy has a much more optimistic view.

Run, not walk to your waiver wire if you have Aaron Rodgers in fantasy football.

Many Packers fans see this as a dirty play by Barr. I disagree, but more on that in a minute.

No matter how you look at it, this sucks. Aaron Rodgers not only means everything to the Green Bay Packers, he is one of the best and most exciting players in the entire NFL. Any time with him being out makes the league less enjoyable to watch. If he is out for an extended period of time, it significantly hurts the chances of one of the best teams in the NFC.

All of that being said, this was not a dirty hit by Barr. The guy was coming in hard and trying to make a play for his team. Rodgers was outside the pocket, and as we know, he is one of the most dangerous quarterback with his legs in the entire league. Barr could not afford to give him extra space in case he were to make a move and take off with the ball like he does regularly.

Plus Rodgers has arguably the quickest release in the game. Once he gets rid of that ball, Barr only has a split second to react. There simply was not enough time for him to hold up and not put a hit on Rodgers.

This injury to Aaron Rodgers is incredibly unfortunate. However, by no way, shape or form was that a dirty hit.
