Connor McDavid is suffering from all the sicknesses
By Tre LyDay
It looks like Connor McDavid can play through just about anything.
Hockey players are notoriously tough. They play through any kind of injury you can think of. From separated shoulders, broken bones and torn ligaments they still take the ice. Quite frankly I don’t know how they do it. Bumps and bruises are apart of any sport you play especially at the professional level, but some of the injuries these guys play through is just down right crazy.
When the average person gets sick we like to milk it big time. Call into work, and just lay in bed all day and do nothing. Well, according to the broadcast from the Edmonton Oilers game against the Nashville Predators on Thursday, Connor McDavid had just about every sickness possible.
McDavid has done some pretty incredible things in his short time in the NHL. He’s currently third in the NHL with 39 points, but this is probably the most incredible thing he’s done as a pro. There’s sick, and then there’s basically knocking on heavens door which is what McDavid is doing with these symptoms.
This list reads like one of those old Pepto Bismol commercials. I’ve never had strep throat, but I’m pretty sure if you have strep throat a sore throat goes along with it. I’m sure McDavid could do without the nausea and vomiting because I’m sure the last thing he or any of his teammates need is him throwing up mid-shift.

The Oilers made the playoffs last season, but they’ve been woefully underachieving this season. Right now they’re 13-17-2 with only 28 points this season. Their 28 points is fourth-worst in all of hockey, and unfortunately for them they play in a division with the L.A. Kings, Las Vegas Golden Knights and San Jose Sharks. Not to mention the Anaheim Ducks who are suffering from a slew of injuries to their best players.
If the Oilers want to turn it around they need McDavid to recover from his various illnesses, and put this team on his back.
