The 2018 East-West Shrine Game takes place on January 20th. Here’s a look at the notable names that will be participating.

The college football season may be officially over but that doesn’t mean the action has stopped. For many of the college seniors looking for a chance to play at the next level, their journey has just begun.

The East-West Shrine Game officially kicks off the 2018 offseason. It’s the longest-running college football All-Star game that’s been around since 1925 is specifically for seniors. Players are picked off of their potential to play at the next level and the game draws many NFL scouts to the scene.

While we likely won’t see No. 1 overall picks playing, there have been plenty of quality players that have boosted their draft stock in the past like Jimmy Garoppolo. It’s another opportunity for players to show off their skills heading into the NFL draft in April.

You can find the 2018 roster here and there are some notable players to look out for on Saturday.

Quarterbacks Riley Ferguson and J.T. Barrett are arguably two of the biggest prospects heading into the game. Ferguson had a fantastic senior season at Memphis, throwing for over 4,000 yards and finishing with 38 touchdowns. We know of Barrett’s success and the senior leads the Big 10 in just about every career passing category. He’ll go down as one of the most accomplished college quarterbacks in recent years.

The Big 10 is the most well-represented conference and will have 18 players participating in the game. Some of those names include Penn State wide receiver Daesean Hamilton, Ohio State safety Damon Webb and Nebraska cornerback Josh Kalu.

Smaller FCS schools like William & Mary, Slipper Rocky and Fordham will be represented and this is the only college All-Star game that allows Canadian football universities, which adds another element.
