Atlantic 10 Tournament 2018 Printable Bracket
The Atlantic 10 Tournament kicks off on March 7 at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. The battle for the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament should be an interesting one, as regular season champion Rhode Island will have a fight to earn a guaranteed spot in the dance.
The bracket is set, and you can find a printable A-10 Tournament bracket here.
The A-10 will once again be looking to get multiple entrants to the dance, after Rhode Island, Virginia Commonwealth, and Dayton all earned spots in 2017. URI is all but a lock to get in under the guidance of head coach Dan Hurley and a trio of senior guards in Jared Terrell, E.C. Matthews, and Stanford Robinson. But both No. 8 seed VCU and No. 9 seed Dayton struggled in their first year under new coaches, and any other slots the Atlantic 10 receives will go to some new faces.
At the forefront is St. Bonaventure, who comes in as the No. 2 seed after going 24-6 and 14-4 in conference. They’re led by dynamic scoring guard Jaylen Adams, who is averaging 20.8 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 5.4 assists per game and could use the Atlantic 10 Tournament, and a resulting NCAA Tournament bid, to strengthen his case as the conference’s best NBA Draft prospect.
Davidson could also have a case, as the No. 3 seed Wildcats went 13-5 in conference to recover from a rocky out-of-conference performance. Led by veteran head coach Bob McKillop and the conference’s leading scorer in senior forward Peyton Aldridge, Davidson boasts the 18th-ranked offense in the country in terms of efficiency. They’ll likely need to secure the automatic bid to get in, but their offense is deadly, and extremely entertaining. They should be the popular dark horse pick.
Outside of those three, the conference should be a bit of a jumbled mess, so expect some upsets here. Nine of the fourteen teams in the conference secured records between 10-8 and 7-11, meaning there’s lots of parity in this conference. For example, No. 12 seed LaSalle has the sixth-best odds of winning the tournament, per Ken Pomeroy, while No. 7 seed Richmond finished tied for fifth despite having the second-worst overall record in the league.
