The 2018 National Invitation Tournament has arrived, and the teams that didn’t make it to the NCAA Tournament will be seeded into the 2018 NIT bracket. For 32 teams that didn’t make it to the Big Dance, their postseason dreams continue with the NIT. You can follow along with all of the fun with our blank printable 2018 NIT bracket.
The NIT begins on March 13 and culminates with the NIT Semifinals on March 27 and the Championship on March 29 at Madison Square Garden in New York.
Selection to the NIT is made March 9-11 with the teams announced at the NIT selection show on March 11. The NIT Selection Committee grants automatic bids to any NCAA teams that were regular-season champions that didn’t make it to the NCAA Tournament, and then the rest of the field is filled out with teams whose overall records and strength of schedule merit an invitation. 32 teams total will participate in the NIT.

The NIT does not have predetermined sites, so the first three rounds are hosted by schools in the tournament, and the second and third round games are determined based on the winners of the first round. The higher-seeded teams are given the first opportunity to host, but if they don’t accept then it is opened up to the other teams.
First Round action begins March 13-14, followed by Second Round games March 15-19, and the Quarterfinal games will play March 20-21. The NIT semifinals are March 27 and the championship game is March 29.
