It hasn’t been a great couple of weeks for Southampton. Two weeks ago, they let a 2-0 second-half lead slip away into a 3-2 loss against Chelsea. Then they drew to Leicester and lost to Chelsea again in the FA Cup to end any dreams of silverware. Now, they need at least two wins in their next four to have a chance at staying up. Their two best bets are against Bournemouth at home and Swansea away in two weeks. The Saints sit four points behind Swansea, which means their clash in a few weeks will be enormous.

Bournemouth are about as close to safe as possible without actually being sure. They sit in 11th place in the table on 38 points, nine points ahead of Southampton. So long as no epic collapses happen come the end of the season, the Cherries will play in the top flight again. A win guarantees safety, and that will be welcome news to all supporters and players alike. This previous fixture ended in a 1-1 draw.
