Brad Marchand was his usual loving self as the Bruins pushed back against the Lightning. The “lick of death” has been planted on Tampa Bay. Now we wait.

In the first round of Boston’s playoff series with the Toronto Maple Leafs, Brad Marchand garnered some quite a bit of attention after he was affectionate toward Leafs forward Leo Komarov. It the most social media coverage a kiss that was not affiliated with The Bachelor has gotten all year.

The Boston Bruins are currently trying to win Game 4 of their series against the Tampa Bay Lightning, and Marchand once again is doing his part as only he knows how.

The Bruins forward once again handed out his final rose, in his patented tongue-to-face manner, to Lightning winger Ryan Callahan.

If you’ve been watching this series closely, you may have noticed that Marchand has gone in for the lick several times already. He was rudely rejected by the various Lightning players, and he likely left the arena sad each night.

Tonight, however, that wasn’t the case. The Bruins all-star has finally found his Lightning lover, and boy, was it beautiful! Callahan had just finished giving Marchand several palms to the face (a known hockey mating ritual) when Brad landed his tongue on Callahan’s chin.

The reactions are already pouring in on Twitter:

For as many Bruins fans who find the act amusing, however, many in the hockey world are more than a little put off by Marchand’s penchant for planting one.

We’re 2-2 through two periods of this one and we can’t wait to see how this one ends. Brad Marchand got his lick in; now expect him to focus on putting the puck in the net next.
