If you placed a prop bet that the Washington Capitals’ Tom Wilson would get into a brawl in Game 7, congratulations on the money.

Any Washington Capitals fan, or any degenerate hockey fan in general, knows Washington Capitals winger Tom Wilson is not someone to take lightly. He’s physical, nasty and lovable all at the same time. Of course, you’re only going to love him if you’re a Caps fan.

That being said, the Caps and Lightning are in the midst of a win-or-go-home Game 7 for the right to represent the Eastern Conference in the Stanley Cup Final. In other words, it’s the perfect backdrop for Wilson to get into a brawl.

If you did take the prop bet that Wilson would get into a brawl during this game, then congratulations — you won. To be totally honest, everyone saw this coming. The Caps and Lightning had both been throwing their bodies around and finishing checks like you should. Everything changed when Braydon Coburn and Tom Wilson got out of the box.

Wilson and Coburn both received matching minors for unsportsmanlike conduct. Coburn basically ripped Evgeny Kuznestov’s jersey off his back, and Wilson wasn’t going to let the referee get in his way of getting to Coburn. Once they got out of the box, though, nobody was getting in the way.

Of course, Coburn’s face ended up getting in the way of Wilson’s fist more than a few times. Wilson came out on top, but not without some battle scars to prove it.

The Capitals lead this game 3-0 in the second period after goals by Alex Ovechkin just over a minute into the game and two goals from Andre Burakovsky in the second period.

This is win-or-go-home, and it doesn’t look like anyone wants to go home anytime soon.
