Joel Embiid demolishes an average joe at a neighborhood court

I bet this guy won’t be trash talking Embiid ever again.
Joel Embiid’s season may be over, but he is still clearly jonesing to be on the court and balling to the max.
What better place to continue to get a hit of that sweet basketball fix than at a neighborhood playground court? That’s exactly what Embid did on a warm pre-summer evening on South Street in Philadelphia, as he entertained the locals by playing some pickup ball with some ‘street ballers.’
One of those street ballers was a dude who, for sure in his mind, believed he should be playing ball in the NBA instead of showing up shirtless players with his unquestioned swag, and trash-talking skills. It was the latter that drew attention to Embiid, and he challenged the the dude to a game of one-on-one. Thankfully, a Twitter user named Felicia (handle: @FeliciaRicci) caught the best moments on her cell phone camera.
With Philly’s streetball trash talk legend trying his best, Embiid proceeded to do what we suspect many have done to this guy time-and-time again. He dominated and humiliated him to the point Philly’s mayor may declare that he be banned from all playground courts in the city.
OK, so that didn’t happen (I think?), but Embiid certainly embarrassed the guy to utter shame. Witness our trash-talking great trying to stop him from dunking the ball — only for Embiid to dunk all over him.

Yes, this is truly embarrassing for him, and pure enjoyment for the rest of us. Maybe the next time this guy sees another Sixer great, he’ll think twice about challenging him to a one-on-one matchup on the asphalt courts of Philly.
