The Vegas Golden Knights host the Washington Capitals in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final. Here’s everything you need to know to watch.

On Monday night, the Vegas Golden Knights defeated the Washington Capitals by a final score of 6-4 in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final. Strong performances from the likes of Tomas Nosek, Reilly Smith, Ryan Reaves and Deryk Engelland was the central avenue through which the Golden Knights snatched victory from the jaws of defeat so as to take a 1-0  series lead.

Wednesday night’s matchup promises to be one of the most exciting games of the 2017-18 campaign, as the Capitals look to even this contest up prior to a stint in Washington. If Barry Trotz’s men are serious about shifting the momentum of the series, more shall be required of the team’s top performers. Look for Alexander Ovechkin, Evgeny Kuznetsov, Lars Eller and Braden Holtby to step things up, as the Capitals aim to reclaim their status as postseason road warriors.

For the Golden Knights, Game 2 is an opportunity to head into a stretch at Capital One Arena with a lead for the books. Vegas has already managed to expose some of Washington’s untimely missteps through overwhelming their opponent with a style of play that capitalizes on any and all mistakes. As such, a question of tactics remains: Can they sustain this pressure over the course of the series? Expect Gerard Gallant’s men to play a similar offensive game with the hope that Marc-Andre Fleury returns to form. If the Golden Knights’ netminder stirs up a “lights-out” performance, the series could continue to swing in Vegas’ favor.
