On Monday night’s Stanley Cup Final matchup, the Washington Capitals will try for a commanding 3-1 series lead over the Vegas Golden Knights. Check below for TV listings, streaming information and more.

Players and coaches, fans even, often stick to the phrase “It’s a long series” once the postseason comes around. That it’s a grind or a compilation of several battles creating a singular war. Ask anyone for the Vegas Golden Knights, who are down 2-1 right now, and they’ll tell you it’s far from over. There’s plenty of hockey left to be played. The Washington Capitals may prefer it a little differently though.

Heading into Monday’s Game 4, Washington has a chance to strangle this series before it’s really even started. Game 1 is a mere week passed. The death knell could be tolling as early as Thursday night. Yet it would only take a win by Vegas, one that would tie this series and send it back to Nevada, to truly throw us into the mixer.

A few things have to happen for Vegas in Game 4 though. For one, goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury has to be better. He’s going to need to outduel Braden Holtby and there’s no way around that. Fleury hasn’t posted a save percentage above .900 so far through three games. Holtby has stopped 58 of the last 61 shot attempts. It’s the difference to this point.

Also, where is Golden Knights Center Jonathan Marchessault? After posting 18 points in the first 15 games of these playoffs, he has a lone assist and a minus-2 rating against the Capitals. William Karlsson and David Perron haven’t fared much better. They have to solve this.

Meanwhile, Alexander Ovechkin has thrived under the brightest lights of his career. He has two goals and three points, including scores in back-to-back contests to help give Washington its current lead. He also has 25 points through 22 games. Barring a dramatic turnaround, he to be the favorite for Conn Smythe right now.

Players to watch, Game 4:

Washington: Lars Eller. Eller was a major factor for the Capitals in knocking off the Tampa Bay Lightning, notching seven points in the seven game series. He had a rough Game 1 against Vegas, tallying zero points with a minus-3 rating. Game 2 proved to be another explosive effort though, as he scored a goal with two assists to tie the matchup. He was again quiet in Game 3, and they will need more of the Game 2 effort to pull this off.

Vegas: Jonathan Marchessault. We touched on this already, but Marchessault has to step up on Monday night. Now would be the worst time to harbor a cold streak. This spot could easily go to Karlsson as well, or Perron, but Marchessault has been the guy on offense throughout this postseason. Look for him to recognize the moment and have a big game.
