1. Houston Rockets

The Rockets have a lot of players hitting free agency this offseason. Most notably, Paul, Trevor Ariza, and Clint Capela. In all likelihood, Daryl Morey will look to bring them all back to maintain the roster that showed it could compete with the Warriors.

Houston seems like the most likely destination for Paul this offseason. He’s already started recruiting LeBron to come join him and James Harden there. By remaining in Houston, he would likely guarantee himself a top-3 seed in the Western Conference and build up to another WCF matchup between him and the Warriors. He would the hope that he could stay healthy and help the Rockets achieve their goal of beating the Warriors.

Playing with the Rockets will allow Paul to take possessions off and not worry when he has to rest. James Harden can dominate games and definitely can create his own shot. Sure, there will be times where Paul has to carry Harden like the WCF, but Harden can also carry him. If the Rockets also bring back Capela, which they should be expected to do, they will have their core trio from this year. Hopefully that would help them do the same things they did this year.

Staying with the Rockets demonstrates his commitment to winning a championship. He would show his belief in the system they ran this year and its ability to take down the Warriors. It is his best chance at beating the Warriors, especially if he can recruit LeBron.
