Not only did Lebron change coasts, but also ratings. This fall, James may be the highest rated player (98) in NBA 2K19. James was 97 overall in NBA 2K18.

As expected, LeBron upped his virtual game slightly. Despite losing in the Finals again, he is the center of the basketball universe. He continues to be receiving attention as a Laker despite tallying zero minutes so far with the franchise. He posted a picture on Instagram with his caricature. The post read quote “Man those white uniforms ain’t so bad/fresh and that rating ain’t so bad either for such an old head!”

Although it’s oozing with exaggeration, King James is not wrong. In fact, this “old head” has diminished 14 other Eastern Conference teams chance of a finals berth since 2010. Even though he’s been around for more than a decade he’s still one of the best players in the NBA, and perhaps the best player in NBA 2K19.

Although his defense dropped off last season, James is still one of the most impactful offensive players in the league. And let’s be honest, his defense is spot-on when it matters most. Similar to wine, he’s improved with age. He played in all 82 games last season, the first time in his career, and led the NBA in minutes played.

After a marathon 82, James took off in the playoffs. His 34 points per game was the second-best in his career.

In addition, James also hit a plethora of buzzer beaters. He took an average Cavs roster and swept the Toronto Raptors of the Conference Semifinals. His NBA Finals numbers were stellar, as usual.

It will be interesting to see where some Golden State players will rank. Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry are locks for at least 95. Sep. 1 is NBA 2K19’s release date.
