With the NBA season right around the corner, we’re indulging every fanbase’s optimism and looking at each team’s best-case scenario for 2018-19.

Hey everybody, it’s that magical time of the year, when all 30 NBA fanbases (yes, even you Sacramento) think the upcoming season might be good. In early November, reality will set in, and many of us will have to realize that our boys just don’t have for this year. But for now, we can dream all we like. With that in mind, let’s look at the best-case scenarios for every team in the 2018-19 NBA season. A few things to consider:

1. I’m thinking of this in terms of “what’s the most games a team could win/the furthest they could advance in the playoffs,” so if a team might be better off tanking, I’m not taking that into consideration.

2. The best-case scenario for the Rockets/Celtics/Raptors/etc. is “the Warriors have a bunch of injuries,” but that’s not really an interesting or instructive.

3. The goal is to be as realistic as possible. Any number of teams at the bottom of the list could be the 13-14 Suns, but there’s no way of knowing that, so we’re looking at the highest realistic expectation based on the facts we have.
