1. Wofford

Of all the teams in the field, Wofford has the best chance to be the next Loyola-Chicago and get to a Final Four. The Terriers have been the best mid-major team outside of Buffalo in the country this season, climbing into the national polls on the strength of a 20-game winning streak.

Wofford won a stronger-than-usual Southern Conference on the strength of its explosive offense, which averages 83 points per game. The Terriers also shoot a ridiculous 41.6% from beyond the arc, which is second in the country, meaning they have the capability to bury high-major teams with triples like UMBC did to Virginia last year.

Wofford’s go-to-guy is senior guard Fletcher Magee, who needs just two triples to set the record for treys in a career, and he could have a Stephen Curry for Davidson like impact on the Terriers. First up is a winnable matchup with Seton Hall, which is hot but very inconsistent, before a mouth-watering showdown against Kentucky in the Round of 32.

Kentucky has as much physical talent as any team in the country, but if any team won’t be intimidated by the Wildcats’ mystique its Wofford. The Terriers have the talent, experience, and shooting to go on a deep March run and capture the hearts of America in one fell swoop.
