The 2019 NCAA Tournament bracket is officially set, and we’ve got our first ever conference power rankings.

A lot is made each year about which conferences came away as the big winners and losers, post-bracket-reveal and again after all the madness comes to an end. For the 2019 NCAA Tournament, it is no different.

After the bracket was revealed on CBS Sunday night, fans of their respective teams and conferences, as well as national media members, took to social media to discuss which conference was the biggest winner.

This year there were 11 multi-bid leagues, with conferences like the Ohio Valley and Mountain West getting multiple teams in as at-large bids who most years wouldn’t have been in. At the top of the list the Big Ten was able to get in a tournament-high eight teams, with the SEC and the ACC both getting seven and the Big 12 getting in six.

The breakdown for the league bids went like this:

  • Atlantic 10 (2)
  • Ohio Valley Conference (2)
  • Mountain West (2)
  • West Coast Conference (2)
  • Pac 12 (3)
  • Big East (4)
  • AAC (4)
  • Big 12 (6)
  • ACC (7)
  • SEC (7)
  • Big Ten (8)

With all of that in mind we decided to rank the conferences, power rankings style. We’ll start with the 11th best conference and work our way down to the first.

Let’s begin.
