March Madness 2019: 5 small school players poised to be household names
2. Fletcher Magee, Wofford
One of the scariest teams in the bracket is the Wofford Terriers, who dominated a very competitive Southern Conference. The Terriers ended the season on a 20-game winning streak and score 83 points per game, with their high-powered offense led by senior guard Fletcher Magee.
Magee leads the Terriers in scoring, averaging 20.5 points per game, and he can score points in bunches. People may not realize that Magee is one of the nation’s most efficient marksmen from beyond the arc, knocking down 42.8% of his threes.
Magee is poised to break the all-time NCAA record for three-pointers, needing just two to pass Travis Bader for the most treys in college history. The Terriers are the mid-major team most poised to go on a Loyola-type run to the Final Four, and Magee would become a star if they go all the way to Minneapolis.
