A huge title match has been announced, but what else is in store for the black-and-gold-and-British brand? Here’s what you need to know ahead of the March 27, 2019 edition of WWE NXT UK.

The big deal coming out of last week’s edition of NXT UK was the announcement that Pete Dunne will defend his WWE United Kingdom Championship against WALTER at NXT Takeover: New York. Now, there’s only one thing left for these two to do: compete in a Beat the Clock Challenge! have a contract signing!

WWE contract signings are notorious for shenanigans, but judging by the tense respect these two seem to have for each other, it’s hard to see things devolving into a full-on fracas. Really, anything beyond them getting into a staredown would feel too extreme. It goes without saying — but will still be said at every possible chance — this match is going to rule. It’s one of the most-anticipated matches on a show that’s literally only highly-anticipated matches. Better to save the actual fighting for the actual match.

Other than that, it’s hard to say for certain what will happen on this week’s episode of NXT UK. Apparently WWE doesn’t “do” previews when it comes to NXT UK, but there are a few storylines up in the air to watch out for.

Kenny Williams and Amir Jordan have won two matches as team, received a behind-the-scenes training montage last week and are officially in a groove. It’s a groove Williams refuses to dance to, but a groove nonetheless. How soon until they are granted the NXT UK Tag Team Championship match they feel they deserve? And what of Moustache Mountain? One half of them pinned one half of the tag team champions in last week’s main event, so are they now due a title shot?

Plus, there’s The Hunt, who squashed Stoker and Howley last week, Fabian Aichner and Marcel Barthel who squashed Stoker and Howley a few weeks ago and The Coffey Brothers, who are down on their luck now, but are due to squash Stoker and Howley any week now. Basically, there’s a whole wealth of tag teams that look ready and able to challenge the Grizzled Young Veterans for their gold (though not Stoker and Howley).

Rhea Ripley and Xia Brookside have been circling each other the last couple of weeks with backstage promos. When they finally step into the ring, will Ripley continue to assert herself as a dominant force in the NXT UK Women’s division, or will Brookside establish herself an improbable upset? Will the bully get their comeuppance, or — in a cruel twist of fate — will the bullied be punished for standing up for themselves?

There’s potential action coming from a few other sources. Toni Storm and Jinny have been engaged in a recent war-of-words over Storm’s NXT UK Women’s Championship. Jinny has claimed up-and-down that she doesn’t care about Storm. But, if she wants to actually win the championship she so covets, she might have to start. A match between these two for the title seems imminent.

Mark Andrews kicked Noam Dar in the head a couple of weeks ago after the latter went a little too far in trashing the former. Will those two look to formally settle things in the ring?

Don’t forget about Jordan Devlin, either. After besting his rival Travis Banks in a falls count anywhere match, how far up the NXT UK ranks can the Irish Ace go?
