We thought that we would be in for a boring National Championship Game, but Texas Tech and Virginia proved us wrong. Very, very wrong.

We all thought that we would be in for the most boring National Championship Game in recent memory.

The Texas Tech Red Raiders and Virginia Cavaliers were two teams who used their defense to reach the near-summit of the college basketball universe, and this game was going to be so boring, that not even Red Bull would want to sponsor it.

How wrong were we?

Virginia and Texas Tech turn in what is sure to be one of the best National Championship Games in recent memory. It was the first to go to overtime since Mario Chalmers rescued Kansas from near certain defeat years prior, and both teams gave it all they had.

So much for boring.

It goes to show you that nothing is guaranteed when it comes to March Madness, not even the prediction of what the National Championship Game will feel like. We thought we would be sleeping right now, but this game had us wide awake, and for that, we thank Virginia and Texas Tech for turning in an ESPN Classic.

Now, on to the Twitter reactions, which are never boring.

First, we have the triumphant Virginia supporters:

(What was that move, in the end, Coach Bennett? What? What was that??)

Then, of course, we had good old Texas Tech trolling:

Now, we have some positive Texas Tech fans, who had a great ride no matter the outcome:

The salty Texas Tech fans:

That one fan who simply refuses to give Virginia any credit:

That one fan who made fun of Texas’ education system:

And, of course, we couldn’t end this reaction post with a tweet from UMBC:

We’ll see you next March for more of the Madness.
