NFL quarterback power rankings

28. Jacksonville Jaguars (Gardner Minshew)

It never truly felt as though Gardner Minshew would become the “answer” in Jacksonville for the Jaguars. After a decent rookie year, Doug Marrone decided to send Nick Foles to Chicago and give Minshew some more run as the starter.

Minshew threw 21 touchdowns with 3,271 yards in 14 games. He did look mediocre in some games, but his overall body of work wasn’t bad.

Now with the job his for the time being, Minshew has a lot to prove down in Jacksonville. Can he be the long-term answer?

27. Miami Dolphins (Ryan Fitzpatrick/Tua Tagovailoa)

This past draft, the Dolphins used one of their numerous picks on former Alabama signal caller Tua Tagovailoa. Now, If Tagovailoa is healthy, the job is most likely his. Otherwise, it will be Ryan Fitzpatrick for the time being.

Tagovailoa provides a lot of optimism as the team’s first established quarterback in a long time, and he can leap up the rankings with a healthy 2020.

26. Cincinnati Bengals (Joe Burrow)

Yes, Joe Burrow had perhaps the greatest college football season ever with 5,671 yards and 60 touchdown throws in 2019. This past draft, he was selected with the first pick. The potential is through the roof for the former Tiger.

However, it would be unfair to place him higher on this list simply because he has yet to throw a single pass in the NFL. Andy Dalton is now on the Dallas Cowboys, which means it is fully Burrow time in Cincinnati.

25. Carolina Panthers (Teddy Bridgewater)

Matt Rhule is now the head coach for the Carolina Panthers, and there has been quite a lot of roster turnover. For one, Cam Newton is no longer with the club.

Instead, Teddy Bridgewater will get his due and become the starter for the Panthers in 2020. After two seasons as the backup to Drew Brees with the New Orleans Saints, he will have his first starting job since 2015 when he was on the Minnesota Vikings.

Bridgewater is stable and he will put the team in positions to win.
