Michigan State basketball continues to add five-star recruits.

It’s a good day to be a Michigan State basketball fan, as Tom Izzo continues to convince some of the best five-star recruits across the nation to come down to East Lansing.

Izzo and the Spartans secured the commitment of five-star guard Max Christie, the No. 13 overall player in the class of 2021, according to the 247Sports Composite.

In an interview with Andy Katz, Christie confirmed he is “100 percent committed” to Michigan State, adding that he will not consider any offers from the G League that would take him out of the college ranks.

This is the second five-star recruit in the last nine days who has decided to play for Izzo, as Emoni Bates, 2022’s No. 1 prospect, stayed in his home state and committed to Michigan State.

Michigan State basketball recruiting has been on a roll lately.

Christie was ranked 13th overall nationally by 247sports, but he was named the best shooting guard recruit in the country and the best player in the state of Illinois. Christie opted for the Spartans after offers from schools like Duke, Ohio State, Gonzaga, and Virginia, just to name a few.

With point guard handles, a sweet stroke from deep, and the ability to attack the rim, it’s easy to see what all the hype surrounding Christie was about.

Izzo and the Spartans have been on fire in recruiting of late. the Spartans landed four-star guard Pierre Brooks II in the 2021 class, and they shocked the world by earning the verbal commitment of Bates, viewed by many as the best high school prospect in years.

Izzo and the Spartans haven’t won a championship since Mateen Cleaves led Michigan State to the 1999-2000 title, but that could change soon if all of these star recruits play up to their potential in East Lansing.
