3. The Buffalo running back room is full of talent

A lot’s been written about the Bills need to upgrade their passing attack this offseason, but that glosses over just how good the team’s run game could be. The reality is Buffalo has three running backs capable of making a big positive impact on their win total this season.

More from Buffalo Bills

The star of the group is obviously Devin Singletary. He doesn’t have the prototypical size you’d like to see in a starting running back, but he’s got more than enough speed and explosion to make up for being a little small. There’s a reason he rushed for 775 yards on 5.1 yards per attempt a season ago.

T.J. Yeldon doesn’t get a ton of fanfare, but he’s got a chance to be one of the most productive backups in the entire NFL. That’s a role he played well during his days with the Jaguars. The departure of Frank Gore gives him a chance to carve out a serious workload in 2020.

The wild card of the group is third-round pick Zack Moss. He lacks top-end speed but he has the power and balance to shed tackles at the line of scrimmage. There’s a chance he, not Yeldon, becomes the team’s No. 2 option at running back this season. Deploy a speed back like Singletary and a power runner like Moss could give the Bills one of the most effective running back duos in the league.
