Rashan Gary is ready to dominate in 2020 for the Green Bay Packers.

Rashan Gary instantly had great expectations placed upon his shoulders after being taken No. 12 overall by the Green Bay Packers in 2019. He got off to a slow start to his career with 21 tackles and two sacks in 16 games.

Now he has a year of experience under his belt and is reportedly dominating in training camp. He has recently made it clear his numbers will go up in 2020.

Rashan Gary expressing a ton of confidence in himself

Gary has some serious competition ahead of him in the form of the Smith Bros. on that Packers defense. And without a preseason fans will be going off what the reporters see in limited time at practice.

Gary improving in year two will be great for a defense that got embarrassed in the NFC Championship by the San Francisco 49ers rushing attack. He also has to live up to expectations or will put far too much pressure on himself going into the 2021 season when talk of a fifth-year option becomes more relevant.

Openly doing great in practice also means opposing offenses will be more prepared for Gary this season. Za’Darius Smith and Preston Smith combined for 25.5 sacks last season. That should mean extra attention on anyone wearing a “Smith” jersey in 2020, thus opening up chances for Gary in what should be increased playing time.

The confidence is great and is what Packers fans want to see after an underwhelming rookie season. Gary has now essentially called his shot and will have to follow through with more than two sacks, especially considering he isn’t the main threat on defense for opposing offensive lines.

Gary is still young and everyone needs time to learn the NFL game. Talking up his own game now means there will be no room for excuses in 2020.
