Lee Corso is in favor of Big Ten football and Pac-12 football not playing.

The iconic college football analyst on ESPN’s College GameDay made it abundantly clear on how he feels about the Big Ten and the Pac-12 not competing this fall. Even if his home setup to be on College GameDay is the stuff of legend, the 85-year-old former head coach is taking the coronavirus very seriously. Here is what he had to say about the Big Ten and Pac-12 on Saturday.

Lee Corso is not messing around when it comes to the safety this fall.

Though he has been out of the coaching game for a very long, as he has become one of the greatest sports analysts of all time, the three schools he’s best associated with are not all playing. While his alma mater Florida State Seminoles and the Louisville Cardinals will take part in ACC play this season, the Indiana Hoosiers will not play this fall along with the other 13 Big Ten teams.

In total, there are 26 Power 5 schools not playing college football this fall. Though the ACC, the Big 12, the SEC and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish are all playing, it will be weird to not see national powers like the Ohio State Buckeyes, the Oregon Ducks or the Penn State Nittany Lions play this season. The university presidents on both Power 5 conferences made the decision weeks ago.

Though we’re going to get the NFL, college football may not make it through the season due to testing protocols and the rest of the student body being on campus. Six FBS conferences and a few national independents are pressing on, but it’s so odd not having the Big Ten involved this year. Along with the SEC, these are the two most significant conferences of note.

Corso’s message should be a reminder to continue to take the coronavirus seriously and be safe.
