Cam Erving is questionable to return to Sunday night’s game.

Cam Erving is a former first-round pick by the Cleveland Browns. His career seemed to be over with his original team before he was traded to the Kansas City Chiefs in 2017. He now has a Super Bowl ring and signed with the Dallas Cowboys this past offseason.

Erving made the team and was on the field Sunday night in the matchup between his Cowboys and the Los Angeles Rams when bad news struck. The offensive tackle was on the line for a Cowboys field goal attempt and was injured in the process.

Cam Erving remains questionable

Erving showed up this summer looking to compete for a starting job. He ended up getting beaten out by rookie Terence Steele once La’El Collins was placed on injured reserve. Thus he was in with the special teams unit and the kick was no good anyway.

This injury does not hurt the starting unit, but losing a reserve lineman is not good news. The team is already without Collins and is now relying on Steele, who is an undrafted free agent, at right tackle.

Cowboys fans will now be waiting to get an update on Erving. He appeared to get rolled up on while in the pile that is the offensive line and those injuries always look severe. Being extra cautious may be the smart move given the fact this is the first game of the season without any preseason games being played. There is no need to rush someone back onto the field at this point in the year.
