Cowboys players sent messages of support to Dak Prescott.

The Dallas Cowboys picked up a close 37-34 victory over the New York Giants on Sunday, but obviously the win was overshadowed by the injury suffered by Dak Prescott.

The quarterback was carted off after a gruesome ankle injury that required surgery right away. Prescott seems to be out for the season and the day was an emotional one for him and his teammates.

Messages of support for Dak Prescott

Prescott is the leader on offense and he had his fellow players reach out in support via the media and Twitter.

It is evident how much the quarterback means to his teammates. Making the entire offense look great with 450-yard performances sure helps, but Prescott also appears to be just a genuinely great human being.

Even Prescott’s former coach in Jason Garrett came out on the field to check on him after the injury happened.

There are a ton of question surrounding the quarterback’s future in Dallas. He signed a massive franchise tag in 2020 and this injury puts a long-term extension in peril. However, what matters now is his recovery and the way current and former Cowboys reacted shows Prescott is a valued member of the franchise.

Andy Dalton is now the quarterback in Dallas and did enough Sunday to lead the Cowboys to a win. The team is 2-3 and still seems like the favorite to win the NFC East. Doing so without Prescott presents a whole new challenge and everyone on offense will have to step up in his absence.

This entire situation is upsetting and tough to see. Prescott’s teammates reacting in this way should signal to Jerry Jones that moving on from his quarterback in 2021 is foolish if he comes back at full strength.
