The Tampa Bay Rays outfielder has been unstoppable all postseason-long, so of course he hit a clutch home run on Wednesday.

Ever since the MLB postseason began, young outfielder Randy Arozarena has been nearly unstoppable for the Tampa Bay Rays. Arozarena is playing a role similar to what David Ortiz took on during the Boston Red Sox’s run to the World Series in 2004, and that’s mashing the baseball. On Wednesday morning, Arozarena boasted an unreal batting average (.462) and OPS (1.409) on Wednesday morning. If you thought he would slow down with the Rays on the cusp of reaching the World Series, you are wrong.

In Game 4 of the ALCS, the Rays were down 2-0 to the Houston Astros, thanks to Jose Altuve’s solo home run and RBI double. But that all changed in the bottom of the fourth-inning,. With Austin Meadows on first base, Arozarena sent a 73-mph curveball from Astros ace Zack Greinke to the left field seats to tie the game.

Arozarena is having a postseason for the ages

How must the St. Louis Cardinals feel watching their former outfield prospect become a postseason legend. We’d venture to say they’re not feeling so good.

This was Arozarena’s fifth-home run of the postseason, making him the third-rookie in MLB history to accomplish this feat. The other two include Kyle Schwarber of the Chicago Cubs (five in 2015) and, ironically, former Ray Evan Longoria (six in 2008)!

Maybe pitchers should start walking Arozarena for the rest of the postseason. Just a thought.
