Trevor Lawrence was pumped for Clemson and D.J. Uiagalelei after their win over Boston College.

Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence couldn’t lead his team against Boston College in person, but he took to Twitter after the game to lend what support he could.

Even though the Tigers struggled and fell behind by as many as 18 points in the first half, D.J. Uiagalelei was able to mount a comeback to secure a 34-28 victory.

For Lawrence, it must have been incredibly tense to watch. After the game, he tweeted, “LETS GO!!! So happy for this team. Great win. Miss being there more than anything. @DJUiagalelei
did your thing proud of you.”

When it was all over, Lawrence took to Twitter to express his delight with the team and Uiagalelei.

There was love all around as Uigalelei responded in short order.

“My brother @Trevorlawrencee man love you bro wish you could been leading us today man!!! But I learned it all from you man thank you for always being there for me and a great example of a man to look up.”

Trevor Lawrence will need to keep cheering on Clemson and D.J. Uiagalelei

This won’t be the last time Lawrence will have to watch his team play from home. Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney confirmed on Saturday that his starting quarterback and Heisman candidate will have to sit out next week.

The timing is less than ideal as the Tigers face one of their toughest challenges of the season with a trip to Notre Dame.

At least Clemson can feel good about Uiagalelei’s debut. He completed 30-of-41 passes for 342 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed for a 30-yard score.

It also helped that running back Travis Etienne was available to carry the load. He had 84 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries while also leading Clemson in receiving with 140 yards and a touchdown on seven catches.

The worry for the Tigers may have less to do with the offense and more to do with the defense. Clemson found itself in a hole largely because they gave up three first-half touchdowns.

Boston College quarterback Phil Jurkovec had two touchdowns for 204 yards on the day but the Eagles struggled to take flight in the second half. Ian Book and the Irish have a bit more firepower to slow down.
