Auburn football had the week off, but students still had a big reason to roll Toomer’s Corner.

The Auburn Tigers football team is on a bye week, and it couldn’t come at a better time after they blew out the rival LSU Tigers last weekend. Just because there’s no football game doesn’t mean that students can’t follow tradition.

On Saturday, Auburn students rolled the Toomer’s Corner after former vice president and Democratic candidate Joe Biden was voted President-elect, defeating incumbent Donald Trump. A few photos can be found in the tweet below, but the full gallery by the Opelika-Auburn News at this link.

Auburn celebrating a different victory

Biden winning the Presidential Election was a foregone conclusion for the past day or so as he sat at 253 points, just 17 short of earning the 270 to clinch the presidency. As his vote count increased in a variety of states, Biden won Pennsylvania and its 20 electoral points on Saturday morning to end the election.

Normally, Auburn students throw toilet paper across Toomer’s Corner after the football team gets a victory. They even do it on occasion when their basketball team wins. But these students decided to follow their tradition for a different situation. They chose to do what 74 million other individuals are doing across the country, and that’s celebrating Joe Biden becoming the 46th President of the United States.
