NFL Week 10: 3 teams on upset alert this Sunday
The Browns and Rams are among the teams on upset alert in Week 10.
Underdogs didn’t pull off nearly as many upsets in Week 9 as they did in Week 8 but that’s not to say that we saw a week of chalk. The New Orleans Saints were actually underdogs before taking down the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a Sunday night rout while the New York Giants also scored an upset of the Washington Football Team.
Let’s take a look at three more NFL teams that need to be on alert for potential upset bids in Week 10 action. All lines referenced in this article are provided courtesy of the FanDuel Sportsbook.
The Arizona Cardinals need to be on upset alert once again
We focused on the Cardinals last week as a team that needed to be on upset alert and that proved to be prophetic when Miami came to town and emerged with a thrilling 34-31 win. This isn’t to say that Arizona played badly as kicker Zane Gonzalez missed a field goal that would have forced overtime, but the Cardinals certainly are capable of better performances than what they showed us yesterday.
Oddsmakers have set the Cardinals as slight 1.5 point favorites to open the week with another home game against an AFC foe in the Buffalo Bills. Week 9 proved to be a statement performance for Buffalo, which eased concerns over its poor play of late with a resounding win over presumptive MVP front-runner Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks.
Getting into a shootout with the Bills probably won’t end well for Arizona since Josh Allen has a wide range of weapons to keep pace with whatever Kyler Murray can throw up on the scoreboard. Kliff Kingsbury will surely be emphasizing to his team the importance of not letting the negative momentum from last week’s loss carry forward against Buffalo.
