It’s clear Mike Zimmer isn’t over the breakup with Cordarrlle Patterson.

They say there’s always a winner and a loser in the breakup. For the Minnesota Vikings, both Mike Zimmer and Cordarrlle Patterson have had their moments of being both.

During Monday night’s game against the Vikings, Patterson showed off his wheels as a return man, taking it back 104 yards for the touchdown to begin the third quarter. It would give Chicago a 13-6 lead, thus reviving the team after nearly of month of mediocrity.

As he passed the sideline, Zimmer clearly wasn’t happy that a former Vikings player scored against his special teams unit. One look at his face tells a story, but you have to wonder what was said?

Both sides really need a win

Drafted in 2013 by the Vikings, Patterson never found his footing in the Land of 10,000 Lakes. Zimmer clearly was willing to let the gadget player walk when his contract was up in 2016. So far, he’s been a gem for the Bears offense and special teams in a limited role.

The Bears started off at 5-1 before a three-game losing skid put them fighting for the season. Meanwhile, a two-game winning streak has changed the tune in Minnesota this year as the offense could be fighting for a postseason berth.

Either way, it’s best to never get on Zimmer’s bad side. Let’s just say his entire special teams staff will be in for a rude awakening Tuesday morning, win or lose.
