Marc Gasol shared his excitement after joining the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Los Angeles Lakers just won an NBA championship in October and are ready to begin defending their crown in December. A few moves have been made on the roster and while there were some subtractions, a huge addition was made with the signing of Marc Gasol.

The veteran center was actually drafted by the Lakers back in 2007, only to be traded to the Memphis Grizzlies in exchange for his brother Pau Gasol. Sometimes life is one big circle.

Gasol recently spoke with Allie Clifton of Spectrum SportsNet and covered several topics in the interview. One thing he did stress was his excitement to team up with LeBron James and Anthony Davis. Can you blame him?

A new Gasol in Los Angeles

Anyone would be excited to team up with that superstar duo and join the defending champions. One thing Gasol gives off is a true sense of humility and that should mean he is a great fit with his new team. He doesn’t seem to have any sort of ego and should be able to just go to work and not cause any drama.

Gasol has spent the majority of his career with the Grizzlies and most recently had a stint in Toronto to help the Raptors become champions. Now he will look to follow his brother’s footsteps and help bring another title back to Los Angeles. James and Davis both being back makes that task a bit easier.

The Lakers are already stacked with talent and adding Gasol almost seems to be unfair. That is the benefit winning teams have in free agency and the Lakers will be title favorites once again even after such a short offseason break. Adding talented players like Gasol means James and Davis can get more rest in the regular season as they gear up for another long year.
