DeSean Jackson has missed most of the season due to injury, but he’s back running routes and could play in a game before saying goodbye to Eagles fans.

On the injury front, the Philadelphia Eagles have seen countless guys go down this year. The long list includes veteran wide receiver and fan favorite DeSean Jackson. Jackson hasn’t been able to suit up since the Oct. 22 win over the Giants due to a fracture in his ankle.

According to a report by John Clark of NBC Sports Philadelphia, Jackson is back running routes on the practice field and could return to the gridiron before the season comes to a close. Interestingly enough, it looks like this will be Jackson’s last season with the Eagles, as he’s expected to hit free agency and potentially join a new team.

DeSean Jackson is hoping to return to the field before the end of the season

In four games this season, Jackson has been held to 13 catches for 155 yards and no touchdowns. It’s been a down year for the speedster, who was placed on Injured Reserve after suffering his serious ankle injury.

This is Jackson’s second stint with the Eagles. He spent the first six years of his career with Philly. Jackson then joined Washington for three years before spending two seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Eagles brought him back in 2019, but injuries have really hurt his ability to get going with the offense. Since the start of last season, Jackson has played in seven games.

With his contract ending after this campaign, it looks like the Eagles are ready to move on and say goodbye to Jackson. While it will suck for Philly fans to see him leave town, we’ll see if he can suit up for the Eagles before making his exit from the team.
