Awful Jared Goff stat bodes well for Packers in Divisional Round
This one stat alone should make the Los Angeles Rams fanbase very nervous on Saturday night.
Sean McVay is a wunderkind and super freak of the playbook. Only he could find a way to win without a healthy quarterback against the Seattle Seahawks in the Wild Card Round.
Let’s give some credit to Jared Goff for stepping up when called. With a busted thumb that was near impossible to stare at, the franchise guy threw for 155 yards and a touchdown to take down Russell Wilson in a 30-20 win. Was he perfect? No. Was it enough? For sure.
That won’t be the case against the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Divisional Round this Saturday. Goff will need to be near flawless to take down Aaron Rodgers and the red hot offense found at Lambeau Field.
Heck, playing in freezing cold weather is easy right? Not if your Goff. In fact, in the two games that the former No.1 pick has played where the weather hit below the freezing point on the thermometer, he’s failed to cover the spread. It’s important to note that the Rams are underdogs this weekend.

In those games, he has zero touchdowns and five interceptions as well. The temperature on Saturday night is expected to dip into the 20’s.
Can Goff pull past Green Bay’s defense?
In colder games, teams will have to rely on their bread and butter. For Los Angeles, that comes in the form of the league’s top defense. One year in the post-Wade Phillips era now has the Rams back on top.
Slight problem there since Aaron Donald might be limited as a pass rusher. Against Seattle, he would leave early with a rib injury and did not return. Although expected to play, what will his role be if he can’t pressure the quarterback?
Green Bay enters the weekend as the No.1 offense following a near-flawless finish. Capped off with a four-touchdown showing against NFC North rival Chicago, Rodgers threw for 48 touchdowns on the season.
The MVP trophy should be arriving momentarily.
Goff’s inability to pass deep downfield has come into question. Try doing it in the freezing cold.
Goff can either change the narrative or play into it. Which side will the Packers see?
