Robert Saleh is quite familiar with how great Patrick Mahomes can be in the Super Bowl, so he sent a clear message to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Robert Saleh his enjoying life (for now that is) as the new head coach of the New York Jets. He arrived to the Big Apple following his stint as defensive coordinator for the San Francisco 49ers.

Last season, Saleh’s defensive unit was remarkable, but the team ultimately couldn’t make enough plays in the Super Bowl, losing to Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. Well, Saleh has some advice for Tampa Bay Buccaneers defenders in their preparation for facing Mahomes and it’s nothing short of hilarious.

Robert Saleh knows just how dangerous Patrick Mahomes can be even if he runs like an old man

I mean, that’s just gold from Saleh right there. Now that he mentions it, Mahomes certainly does have a bit of a strange jog. The Super Bowl MVP looks like one of those 52-year-old hoopers at the YMCA trying to get back in transition, while also battling indescribable back, hip and shoulder pain.

As funny as Saleh’s comment might be, he also made it clear to Tampa Bay players that they’ve got to take Mahomes seriously in every facet of his game, including his running. While Mahomes doesn’t have wheels like Lamar Jackson or Josh Allen, he can still be mobile and break free for big runs.

He’ll always hurt you with his rocket for an arm, but the ability is there to rush the ball as well. Come Feb. 6, the Buccaneers will hope to contain Mahomes and record yet another upset win en route to a Super Bowl victory. The world will be watching, including Saleh.
