Frank Ntilikina comes up with game-winning steal vs. Pacers (Video)
The Knicks found a hero in Frank Ntilikina as the guard clinched a victory over the Pacers with an opportunistic steal and some clutch free throws.
The New York Knicks got the win over the Indiana Pacers on Saturday night in dramatic fashion.
It didn’t end with a game-winning shot or a dramatic block. Instead, it was a steal from Frank Ntilikina that saved the day.
With less than 10 seconds to play and the Knicks leading by two, the Pacers looked to create a shot to tie or take the lead. They didn’t get the chance.
Derrick Rose started the sequence off right when he disrupted a pass at the top of the arc. Ntilikina pounced to pick off the ball in the confusion and attempted to dribble out the clock. When he was fouled, he ensured the game would end with an addition to the win column by hitting both of his free throws.
Frank Ntilikina played his part in the Knicks narrow victory
Ntilikina finished the game with five points, two assists, one rebound and the critical steal while playing 11 minutes off the bench.
The Knicks also got some big performances from the starting five. Julus Randle had a double-double with 28 points and 10 rebounds. He added six assists and four steals to that impressive stat line.
R.J. Barrett was hot from distance with 4-of-6 on three-pointers, putting up 24 points, seven rebounds and two assists.
Along with his role in the game-clinching play, Rose had 17 points, 11 assists and four steals.
New York improved to 17-17 with their second win in a row. They are now tied with the Raptors for third in the Atlantic division. Next up, they’ll battle the Pistons with hopes of notching their fourth win in five games.
