After missing on five-star quarterback Ty Simpson, Clemson football reeled in four-star quarterback Cade Klubnik who has a rifle for an arm.

Each season, Dabo Swinney and his assistant coaches nail it out on the recruiting trail and land some of the top prospects in the country. We saw that with the 2021 class, with Clemson putting the finishing touches on an impressive haul last month.

Now, Swinney is ready to hit the ground running in going after his top targets for 2022. The list of commitments grew by one with the commitment from four-star quarterback Cade Klubnik from Westlake high school in Austin, Texas on Tuesday evening.

Dabo Swinney and Clemson are a perfect fit for Cade Klubnik

The Tigers put an offer on the table for Klubnik just last week, sending out the scholarship shortly after five-star quarterback Ty Simpson picked Alabama over Clemson and others.

It didn’t take long for Klubnik to make his decision and commit to the Tigers.

Klubnik is a four-star signal-caller, No. 77 overall recruit and the No. 5 pro-style quarterback in the nation, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

He picked the Tigers over offers from 30 other programs, including Florida, North Carolina, Texas, Auburn, Florida State, LSU and Michigan, among others.

Klubnik os the fourth commitment for the 2022 Clemson football recruiting class, joining offensive tackle Collin Sadler, offensive tackle Blake Miller and wide receiver Adam Randall. The Clemson football class now ranks No. 17 in the nation and No. 3 in the ACC, according to the 247Sports Team Rankings.
