Clemson football is now the favorite to pick up a commitment from four-star athlete Brenen Thompson, a Top 100 prospect for the class of 2022.

Clemson football has already gone into Texas to pick up a four-star quarterback commit. Could the Tigers land another top prospect from the Lone Star State soon enough?

It looks like momentum is on Clemson’s side in recruiting four-star athlete Brenen Thompson, who ranks No. 73 in the nation.

This week, four new predictions were logged in the 247Sports Crystal Ball, pointing towards Clemson as Thompson’s eventual choice.

Clemson football is trending for speedster Brenen Thompson

In December, Thompson listed 12 favorites, including Texas A&M, Clemson, Nebraska, Auburn, Texas, Stanford, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Alabama, Oregon, Georgia, and Texas Tech. He hasn’t narrowed that group himself, but it’s clear his eyes are focused on the Tigers.

Of course, Clemson would be wise not to rest on their laurels. Thomson recently tweeted plans to visit College Station this weekend. Local schools like Texas A&M, Texas, and Texas Tech will not want to let Thompson leave the state without a fight.

The 5-foot-10 athlete is a two-sport star, making waves on the football field and the track. He competes in the 100 meters, 200 meters, and long jump. His track speed has drawn major recruiting attention his way. His 100-meter dash clocks in at 10.32 seconds.

While Thompson is a dual-threat quarterback for Spearman in North Texas, he projects as a wide receiver. He could also end up on defense at the college level.

The 247Sports composite ranks him No. 8 among athletes and No. 13 in the state of Texas for the coming cycle.
