Sister Jean had her prayers answered with Loyola upsetting Illinois in March Madness.

Sister Jean, the 101-year-old chaplain for the Loyola basketball team watched her squad in action for the first time this season on Friday against Georgia Tech and they certainly did not disappoint. Loyola’s No. 1 nationally ranked scoring defense proved to be no fluke as they held Tech to just 30 percent from 3-point range and 60 percent from the free-throw line.

The Ramblers moved on to face the No. 1 seed Illinois for a spot in the Sweet 16. Sister Jean is in attendance once again and offered the team this awesome analytical prayer before the game.

As college basketball programs continue to try to push through March Madness, it’s great to see Sister Jean getting into the meat and potatoes of what really matters, and even asking a higher power is sometimes necessary.

Sister Jean’s pregame prayer was obviously heard

Sister Jean knows what she’s talking about and after citing the analytics in her pregame prayer, the Ramblers went out and executed, holding the Illini below 30 percent from beyond 3.

Loyola was too much for Illinois to handle as the Ramblers dominated from the opening tip to the final whistle, upsetting the 1-seed in the Midwest Region.

Could Loyola have another run to the Final Four in them after making it in 2018? Sister Jean admitted she has the Ramblers making it to the Elite 8 in her bracket.

Porter Moser’s team may be even better than that version of the team and the way they played against Illinois is proof they can beat anyone in the country on any given day.

This team isn’t a Cinderella but they’ve got an ace up their sleeve no other team can match. That’s Sister Jean who has the ear of a higher power and clearly having her prayers answered.
