Alabama basketball hit an epic game-tying buzzer-beater to stay alive and force overtime with UCLA in a thrilling Sweet 16 game.

Alabama basketball put the Madness in March on Sunday night in their Sweet 16 matchup with UCLA.

Just when it looked like the No. 2 seed Crimson Tide were dead in the water, Alex Reese hit the biggest shot of the season.

And that is why you foul when you’re up by three points. Mick Cronin will regret that decision.

Alabama and UCLA locked horns in the Sweet 16

Reese isn’t the guy the experts would have pegged as Alabama’s savior. He came off the bench and that was his very first make of the game. Maybe that’s why the Bruins lost track of him on that play in the final seconds.

It was the bench that gave Alabama a chance at all. Jahvon Quinerly came up big with 18 points off the bench.

Both teams will wonder what could have been if they had been able to hit more of their free throws. While UCLA was 9-of-14 in regulation, the Crimson Tide were an abysmal 11-of-25.
