LSU football fans will love this one stat when it comes to Arch Manning’s recruitment.

The LSU football program is one of many coveting Arch Manning‘s five-star status for 2023.

Manning is the son of Cooper Manning, the nephew of Eli and Peyton Manning and the grandson of Archie Manning. He is the No. 3 overall prospect in the 247 Sports Composite for 2023. Not only is he the No. 1 pro-style passer in his class, he is also the No. 1 overall prospect from the State of Louisiana. For the last decade, the top recruit from Louisiana has signed with the Bayou Bengals.

Manning plays his high school ball at the same Isidore Newman School in New Orleans that gave us the three Manning brothers, as well as NFL star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. Even though his father, Uncle Elie and Grandpa Red went to Ole Miss, and his Uncle Peyton to Tennessee, Cooper Manning is okay with his son staying instate to play his college ball over in Baton Rouge.

LSU football: Will Arch Manning commit to the Tigers?

Manning has said the three teams he has been in contact with the most are the Alabama Crimson Tide, LSU and the Texas Longhorns. LSU has already garnered the commitment from Manning’s top receiver at Isidore Newman for 2022 in AJ Johnson. Given how much recruitment is a passion for LSU head coach Ed Orgeron, this could tip the scales in the Tigers getting the next Manning.

Overall, we are still a long way away from Manning even thinking about committing to a Power 5 team. He has two more years left of high school ball before he even considers enrolling early. Given the global pandemic, Manning and most top high school prospects have not been able to pay most of these schools a visit. However, Baton Rouge is not all that far from New Orleans.

If these recent recruiting trends hold true, the Manning will wind up playing home games at LSU.
