Lorenzo Cain returned to the Milwaukee Brewers lineup and hit a massive bomb against the Philadelphia Phillies.

Cain had been struggling at the time of his injury, but back at full strength, the Brewers outfielder delivered a memorable drive to Ashburn Alley.

The Brewers got great health news on Monday — a rarity in those parts — with Cain and Christian Yelich returning to the lineup. Yelich is a perennial MVP candidate when healthy, and Cain was expected to provide a valuable veteran presence to steady the Brewers outfield.

Still, despite all the injuries (17 players on the IL, to be exact), Milwaukee sits in first place in the NL Central by two games over a loaded St. Louis Cardinals team.

Brewers: Lorenzo Cain is eternally underrated

The Brewers sent first baseman Keston Hiura and outfielder Tyrone Taylor to the alternate training site to make room for the two former All-Stars.

“We haven’t been activating players lately, so just to activate some players is a change of how last week went, that’s for sure,” Brewers manager Craig Counsell said, per ESPN.

Ain’t that the truth. The Brewers are getting healthy at the right time, making an already-formidable team one of the more scary contenders in the National League.
