World Series hero David Freese is currently in Texas and a Rangers fan reminded him just how valuable he is for the St. Louis Cardinals.

The 2011 World Series is one that retired MLB player David Freese will surely never forget. A member of the St. Louis Cardinals, Freese was nothing short of clutch going up against the Texas Rangers, helping the NL Central club go on and win it all in a thrilling series.

That year, Freese and the Cardinals took down the Texas Rangers. For folks in Texas, Freese remains a bit of a villain and that will never change. Freese reminded us all of that in hilarious fashion, sharing quite the story on his Twitter page.

David Freese will always be a Cardinals fan-favorite for his World Series heroics

It’s hard for Rangers fans to not despite Freese. In Game 6 of the ’11 World Series, the Rangers were up 7-5 in the bottom of the ninth and on the verge of winning the title. Instead, facing a 1-2 count, Freese hit a game-tying two-run triple. Absolutely bonkers.

In the top of the 10th, Josh Hamilton hit a two-run bomb, which everyone thought would be enough to seal things for the Rangers. It was all over! Until it wasn’t. The Cardinals tied things up in the bottom of the 10th and then Freese, you guessed it, hit the game-winning homer an inning later to force a Game 7.

St. Louis went on to win 5-2 in that Game 7. Texas hearts were broken and the party at Busch Stadium never felt better. Again, Freese will always be a hero in St. Louis, while the good folks in Texas have every reason to despise him. Fortunately this fan was classy about things, as Freese was undoubtedly smiling from ear to ear after this interaction.
