The Ohio State football program may have as many as five first-round picks in 2022.

After only seeing quarterback Justin Fields go in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft, the Ohio State football team might have as many as five players taken in the first round in 2022.

Ryan Day’s football program recruits at an elite level. The Buckeyes have won the Big Ten both years he has been the head coach, making the College Football Playoff both times as well. While it remains to be seen who will replace Fields at starting quarterback, you better believe Ohio State will have more than one first-round player taken next spring. Ohio State has one loaded roster.

Look for all five of these Ohio State players to be off the board well before the end of day two.

5 best Ohio State NFL Draft prospects with the most to gain this fall

Haskell Garrett projects as a late first-round to mid-second-round prospect

For the Buckeyes to have the season they are hoping for, Ohio State will have to assert its dominance in the trenches vs. Big Ten competition. One player who could benefit tremendously from a great year is defensive tackle Haskell Garrett. While he projects as a lock at this point to go in at least the second round, a great final year in Columbus could have him going top 32 in 2022.

Sevyn Banks could be the latest Ohio State defensive back to go in the first round

Ohio State has done a great job in the last decade of sending top-flight defensive backs into the NFL. While none of them were first-round picks a season ago, the best bet for that to happen in 2022 would have to be cornerback Sevyn Banks. As long as he does not put bad plays on tape like Shaun Wade, unfortunately, did a season ago, Banks has what it takes to be top 32 next spring.

Scouting Report. DE. Ohio State Buckeyes. Pick Analysis. Zach Harrison. 3. player. 812

Zach Harrison will probably go in the first round, maybe even crack the top 10

Whether it has been the Bosa Brothers or Chase Young, it feels like every year or so the Ohio State football program gives us a blue-chip pass-rushing prospect. The guy to keep an eye on this year is Zach Harrison. If he lives up to the hype, he should go in the top half of the first round, possibly cracking into the top 10 if a bad team is in dire need of a pass rusher. He can be a star this season.

So what about those two other star wide receivers that led to Jameson Williams transferring?
