The Los Angeles Lakers have gotten some great news on superstar Anthony Davis, as it looks like he’s got a chance to play in Game 5.

Hearts dropped to the floor all over Los Angeles on Sunday when Lakers standout Anthony Davis suffered his groin strain. With his injury, Davis was in a ton of pain on the hardwood and wasn’t able to return to action.

Immediately, folks started to panic thinking that maybe Davis had suffered a serious injury and would be out for the rest of the series against the Phoenix Suns. Fortunately, NBA insider Shams Charania is reporting that Davis’ injury is minor and he’s day-to-day moving forward.

There’s a chance the Lakers will have Anthony Davis available for Game 5

When is Anthony Davis coming back?

Obviously, this is monster news for the Lakers and head coach Frank Vogel. While groin injuries can be tricky, Davis sure has a shot of playing in Game 5, which is scheduled for Tuesday night. If Davis is able to suit up, it will of course increase LA’s chances of coming out on top.

In Sunday’s Game 4 loss, we saw just how much the Lakers missed Davis out on the floor. While the team recorded an impressive comeback late, it wasn’t enough to come away with a victory. Phoenix was able to even things up at 2-2 with its 100-92 win at the Staples Center.

With both teams having the chance to take a 3-2 advantage on Tuesday, Davis will surely be motivated to try and suit up with the rest of his teammates. The Lakers will want to be smart, though, and not rush him back. Come Tuesday, we’ll find out if this groin strain will keep Davis out of the lineup or if he’ll be able to help LA on both ends of the court.
